Q: What are the essential items a bride should bring when trying on wedding dresses?

A: “We usually advise brides bring a small group of people, such as her mom, sister, or perhaps a close aunt. Large parties of bridesmaids and co-workers can usually overwhelm a bride with their own personal styles and ideas.”

Q: What tips do you have for brides who aren’t sure how to pick a dress?

A: “We usually tell brides that are a little nervous or apprehensive about the shopping process to just relax and enjoy this time. This is the fun part, don’t get caught up in over-analyzing. This can also be an emotional decision… Let your emotions be known so we can help out the best we can. Finding “the dress” may be a complete surprise as far as style or silhouette and not at all what you originally envisioned!”

Q: What trends are you seeing in your region?

A: “At the moment, interesting and intricate backs are requested quite a bit. Very romantic lace with slightly darker colored linings. We’re also seeing lots of champagne and blush tones.”

Q: What is your favorite part about working with brides?

A: “My favorite part of working with brides is watching her expression and demeanor change, almost instantly, when she puts her gown on for the first time after a lot of comparing!”

Q: Which Maggie Sottero or Sottero and Midgley gown would you choose to wear for your wedding?

A: “With so many to choose from, I’m not sure! It changes every week as new dresses come into the store!”

Q: What is your favorite bridal trend?

A: “Color!”

Q: If you could tell brides one thing, what would it be?

A: “Enjoy this process, because you will never please everyone! Always remember the important part of any wedding is the love between the two people getting married, and the vows exchanged!”
