Which Maggie Sottero Designs gown did you wear?
Melrose Lynette by Sottero and Midgley.
How did you know when you found “the dress”?
Right when I put it on, I knew that I wanted that gown. I felt gorgeous and it fit me and my personality. Plus, I knew my fiancé at the time would love me in it.
What was your favorite part of the dress?
How it fit, and how amazing I felt in it.
How did you and your partner meet?
Blind date.
How did he propose?
Weston planned a whole day for the proposal. He took me to some special places for us, including the Manti Temple which is where we wanted to get married. Followed by dinner at my favorite restaurant, Tucano’s. He finished off by taking me to the place where he first kissed me up in the canyon overlooking the Salt Lake Valley. The whole day he was telling me why he loves me and he finished at the end of the night by telling me that he loves me because I help him be a better person and he wants to be with me forever so he can love me in return for making him into the man he is today. He was down on one knee with a bouquet of my favorite flower, Calla Lilies, and the most beautiful diamond ring I have ever seen. He picked out the ring so it was a total surprise and a shock. I had no idea he had it yet.
Where did you get married?
The Latter-Day Saint Temple in Manti, Utah.
Did your wedding have a theme?
The theme were things that we love, which included Star Wars, Austria, Calla Lilies, the colors Yellow and Green (our favorite colors), and everything linked together with the forest look.
How did you decide what you wanted your wedding to look like?
I wanted to make my husband happy and his biggest love was Star Wars, so that is how I knew Star Wars was going to be involved. He spent a couple of years in Southern Germany and Austria and involved little things from these countries in the planning. My favorite color is yellow and his is green. I adore Calla Lilies, and the forest look tied all the things together.
What was your favorite wedding day moment?
After the ceremony, my husband and I got a quiet moment together before the rest of the festivities began. In this moment, we expressed how we felt like we are in the right place, at the right time, and most importantly with the right person. We had no doubts, just a heart full of love for one another and excited for what lies ahead.
Describe your wedding in one word.
Emblematic.
What advice do you have for future brides?
Make it yours, do what you want, and do things that make your relationship yours. The day was ten times more special, fun, and exciting because we had little things that we love entwined in all the details of the wedding.
