Maggie Bride: Karen’s Gorgeous Amalfi Coast Wedding

Real Weddings | May 19, 2014

Few things are more romantic than an Amalfi Coast wedding… Except, perhaps, when a bride and groom return to their engagement spot to say “I do.” Our Maggie Bride, Karen, and her handsome groom, Doug, did just that. “Doug had proposed to me on the beautiful Isle of Capri, and we both agree it was the most scenic and romantic spot,” Karen said. Years later, the couple returned for a stunning Amalfi Coast wedding, on a panoramic terrace overlooking the sea. Karen, who wore Antonia on her big day, fell in love with this strapless wedding dress at first sight. “I literally called every store in a three state radius searching for that dress,” she said. “I even kept a spreadsheet!” Karen’s diligence paid off, when Wedding Treasures in Castle Rock, CO., informed her they were receiving a trunk show that might contain Antonia. “I called a few days prior, and as fate planned, Antonia was coming to Colorado,” Karen said. “I made the two-hour drive to try on the dress and knew immediately. Not once did I have that feeling that I had found ‘the dress’ until Antonia.”We’re absolutely swooning over this picturesque wedding…See more below!

Dress: Antonia * (Lynnis or Mary)

Favorite part of the dress: “My favorite part about Antonia, besides that style, was how travel friendly the gown ended up being…perfect for our Italy destination wedding. In total, Antonia was worn for a bridal session at Villa Rufolo in Ravello, wedding day pictures in Positano and Ravello (Villa Cimbrone), after session pictures on the isle of Capri, along additional after session pictures in Rome and Venice. Antonia had a wonderful tour of Italy!”

Favorite wedding day moment: “Our entire wedding day was magical, so it’s very hard to pick a favorite moment. Reciting my personal wedding vows to Doug through tears was one of my favorite moments along with seeing the gorgeous private terrace at Hotel Parsifal in Ravello for our intimate wedding dinner. The view, candlelight, romantic setting and genuine hospitality provided by Antonio, the owner, was as close to a fairytale as I could possibly imagine!”
