Maggie Bride: Emily’s Posh City Wedding

Real Weddings | April 24, 2014

There are few things we enjoy more than a good love story, and the love story of our Maggie Bride Emily, who wore Clarice on her big day, is one for the books. Growing up in the same town, Emily had pined after her now husband ever since she was young. “I’d secretly had my eyes on him since I was a little girl,” she confided. A few years later, Emily’s mom caught a handsome man staring at Emily during synagogue. “She suggested I give a look in his direction,” Emily said. “We were introduced at the conclusion of the service, and it was literally love ever since that introduction.” We’re swooning! To complement her posh city wedding, Emily chose Clarice, a stunning ruched strapless A-line wedding dress. Read more about Emily’s enchanting story and see more of her gorgeous photos below!

Dress: Clarice

Favorite part of the dress: “It’s hard to pick my favorite! The corseted back was beautiful, and made the fit perfect for my body. I also loved the intricate detail on the front of the dress, and how organic the detailing looked. The neckline was also perfection! My husband was a huge fan of my choice!”

Favorite wedding day moment: “My favorite moment of the wedding day was seeing my husband for the first time that day. My wedding planner directed me to a room where he stood, facing the window away from the door I was entering from. I walked up to him and tapped his shoulder. The expression on his face when he saw me in my wedding gown for the first time was priceless. I’m so thankful my photographer did such an excellent job capturing this whole moment!”

Advice for future brides: “Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, if you allow it to be. Keep the end goal in mind and try not to get so caught up in the small details. No one is going to remember which napkin was on the table, or what they had for their salad course. Figure out what is most important for your wedding — food, music, flowers — and try to decide where you want to spend more or less. For us, the most important factor was the music. Our band kept our guests on their feet dancing the entire night!”

Your wedding in one word: “Elegant.”
