Jessica’s Great Gatsby Wedding
It seems our Midgley Bride Jessica was born in the wrong decade; she’s all about the glitz and glamour of Gatsby-themed nuptials and a sparkly dress like Simone. We love the details of Jessica’s completed look, including her oval-cut vintage wedding ring and fingertip veil with delicate embellishments along the trim. (Not to mention the feather and rhinestone accents in Jessica’s braided updo and bouquet!) Scroll through for more details from Jessica and Jack’s elegant occasion, and check out our selection of vintage wedding dresses to find your own twenties-inspired gown!

What was your wedding theme and how did you choose it?
I love The Great Gatsby and the Roaring Twenties—the art deco, feathers, the parties, the drinks, the outfits, and the glamour!
How did you meet your partner?
I was a young nurse, and Jack was a doctor working on my floor. He had something about him that always made me so nervous. It was a feeling I had never had before…

How did he propose?
Jack proposed on his parents’ boat at sunrise on Glen Arbor Lake in Michigan. I had just caught the bouquet at my friend’s wedding two days ago, but I still had no idea a proposal would happen. Even when I saw the ring box, I assumed it was earrings!

What is the name of your dress?
Simone by Sottero and Midgley
What made you fall in love with it?
The sparkles, the train, and the sparkly sleeves. I loved it all! It was the last dress they had for me to try on. It had the most sparkles, it was classic, and I felt beautiful!

Favorite wedding-day moment?
My favorite wedding day moment was seeing everything in Gatsby theme; the chandeliers, the cake, the band, and the decor was exquisite!
