Double Your Impact With Cheer for Charity!
Mark your calendars, brides! Cheer for Charity is finally here! Double your impact by finding the wedding dress of your dreams while making a difference by giving back to some of those most vulnerable in our community. After all, there’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit! That’s why from November 29th through December 31st, we’ll be participating in Cheer for Charity (and you should too!) to keep cancer patients dreaming.
What is Cheer for Charity?
Cheer for Charity is our annual charitable initiative during the holiday season. For the fourth year in a row, a percentage of total sales made between November 29th through December 31st will be donated to Huntsman Cancer Institute to help fund cancer research and treatment.
We’ll also continue to plant a tree through our partnership with One Tree Planted during this time, so you have an opportunity to double your impact this holiday season when you purchase a Maggie wedding gown!
Raising money for cancer awareness is a cause that is close to the hearts of many of our brides, as well as ours.
We lost an incredible woman and team member to cancer a few years ago, and the hole she left in our office and hearts inspired us to partner with Huntsman Cancer Institute to help spread awareness and raise funds for those who have had cancer touch their lives.
Help us give back by booking an appointment with an Authorized Retailer today to say yes to your dream Maggie wedding gown!
How is Huntsman Cancer Institute Impactful?
Here’s all the Huntsman info for our FBI-level stalker brides (we see you, we love you, and we fully support the fact that you’d already seen your fiancé’s aunt’s twin sister’s Facebook before the first date).
Huntsman Cancer Institute is a nationally recognized research center and treatment hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Their mission is to “understand cancer from its beginnings, to use that knowledge in the creation and improvement of cancer treatments, to relieve the suffering of cancer patients, and to provide education about cancer risk, prevention, and care.”
We love how hard they work to make an impact. But if you’re still not sold, here are a few more reasons to enter your Huntsman era:
Huntsman Cancer Institute is the only National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Mountain West. That means they meet the highest national standards for care and research.
Huntsman Cancer Institute is a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), a non-profit alliance of the world’s leading cancer centers. They write best practice standards for cancer care that are used around the world.
An amazing cause, a mission to help both current and future cancer patients, and fantastic credentials? Yeah, we’re kind of obsessed.
Last Year’s Impact
Last year, we were able to donate over $20,000 to the Huntsman Cancer Institute while planting a tree for each bride, and we can’t wait to see the impact you can help us make this year!
As an additional gesture of gratitude, last year Maggie Sottero Designs donated an additional $5,000 to the charity of choice for the top five Authorized Retailers, three in the U.S.A. and two others worldwide, who ordered the most gowns in December 2023. The winners and their selected charities were:
Double Your Impact with One Tree Planted
Double your impact by raising funds for cancer research and planting a tree with the same dream dress purchase!
Year-round, in honor of every Maggie Sottero bride, we plant a tree with One Tree Planted to support biodiversity protection. Through this partnership, we’ve planted more than 50,000 trees! We are celebrating a more sustainable wedding space with LOVE and love for ALL – including Mother Earth.
If you buy your wedding dress during Cheer for Charity, you’ll be supporting both Huntsman Cancer Institute as well as One Tree Planted. (What can we say? We love a good two-for-one.)
Maggie brides are always stunning, but the glow you’ll have on your wedding day knowing you were a part of that? We can’t even imagine.
‘Tis the Season to Double Your Impact!
If you don’t mind us getting sentimental for just a second, we want to share a little bit about what the holidays are really about for us here at Maggie, and maybe it will resonate with you too!
Our hearts are the most full when we’re surrounded by our family and friends. Sharing that love with others is always the natural next step. We believe that there’s no better way to celebrate the true meaning of the season than by giving back to those less fortunate.
We want to make an impact for the people that we love, you love, and who just need love. But we can’t do it alone.
Double your impact this holiday season by scheduling a bridal appointment at your nearest Maggie Sottero Authorized Retailer and finally try on that gown you’ve been eyeing! Who knows? Maybe you’ll say yes to the dress, plant a tree, and give back to those battling cancer!
More Than a Dress
PC: Urban Set Bride
There are a hundred ways to make a statement on your special day. For some brides, that over-the-top dress is exactly the way to go.
Other brides have loved ones who aren’t able to attend their wedding because of cancer, or who have a loved one who is currently fighting cancer. Wearing a dress that gives a nod toward those important people is a quiet, but powerful statement.
Cheer for Charity is here for both. You deserve to feel beautiful on your wedding day in a gown that is perfectly “you.” And those utterly unforgotten loved ones can still be a part of your wedding celebration.
Double your impact by looking for a wedding gown that’s more than a dress. Participate in Cheer for Charity to plant a tree and stand in support of cancer victims and their families!
Maggie Retailers: How Do You Double Your Impact?
Of course, the Maggie Family would be nothing without our wonderful Authorized Retailers! They have implemented incredible charitable efforts of their own this giving season. Our retailers never fail to impress us with how much they give back to their community.
Simply Blush Bridal

On March 2nd, one of our fantastic retailers, Simply Blush Bridal, located in Windell, North Carolina, will hold their annual fashion show fundraiser for Team Lukemia Beat Down in honor of Greg Cunningham, who passed away from Lukemia November 15, 2019.
Martellen’s Bridal
Another great retailer with a great cause? Martellen’s Bridal! A few times a year, Martellen’s Bridal in Lemont, Illinois does a “Gowns for Good” campaign where a percentage of gowns sold is donated to charity. Last March, they made a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association as owner Mary Beth Berent lost her mother to the disease. This October, their cause was breast cancer, and they donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
“We are so proud to support these causes,” said Mary Beth, “So many of our brides and their families are so touched.”
To learn more about upcoming Gowns for Good campaigns, and plan out when to shop accordingly, brides can visit the events tab on their website!
The Bridal Collection
This month, The Bridal Collection donated a portion of all their proceeds towards a program they call Purchase for a Promise. In conjunction with a nonprofit organization, their donation provided sewing machines to women and girls in poverty-stricken communities and provided a way for them to earn wages and support their families. Pretty amazing, right? We couldn’t be happier to have them on our team!
Amy King Bridal

Another retailer who has been raising funds to help raise funds for and spread awareness about breast cancer is Amy King Bridal in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. They set up a giving page and encouraged their staff and customers to donate as much or little as they would like. For every dress sale, owner Amy is also donating an additional £5.
Staff wore pink outfits all month in October, and they have a dress in their shop window that a pink bow is attached to for every £5 donated. “It is such a fab way of spreading awareness and raising funds for this great cause,” said Amy.
So far, they have raised a total of £220, 88% of their £250 goal! Way to go Amy King Bridal team!
Can you believe how remarkable our retailers are? We could not be more impressed or prouder to partner with such wonderful boutiques. Find a retailer in your area and see what they’re doing for your community! Thank you for your help in contributing to a cause close to our heart.
