Bride picking out Maggie Sottero wedding gowns during Cheer for Charity

Mark your calendars, brides, because Cheer for Charity is finally here! Double your impact by finding the wedding dress of your dreams but also make a difference by giving back to some of those most vulnerable in our community. After all, there’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit! That’s why from November 24th through December 31st, we’ll be participating in Cheer for Charity (and you should too!) to keep cancer patients dreaming.

What is Cheer for Charity?

Cheer for Charity is our annual charitable initiative during the holiday season. For the third year in a row, a portion of all proceeds made from dress sales made between November 24th through December 31st will be donated to Huntsman Cancer Institute to help fund cancer research and treatment.

We’ll also continue to plant a tree through our partnership with One Tree Planted during this time, so you have an opportunity to double your impact this holiday season when you purchase a Maggie wedding gown!

Raising money for cancer awareness is a cause that is close to the hearts of many of our brides, as well as ours.

We lost an incredible woman and team member to cancer a year ago, and the hole she left in our office and hearts inspired us to partner with Huntsman Cancer Institute to help spread awareness and raise funds for those who have had cancer touch their lives.

Help us give back by booking an appointment with an Authorized Retailer today to say yes to your dream Maggie wedding gown!

How is Huntsman Cancer Institute Impactful?

Here’s all the Huntsman info for our FBI-level stalker brides (we see you, we love you, and we fully support the fact that you’d already seen your fiance’s aunt’s twin sister’s Facebook before the first date).

Huntsman Cancer Institute is a nationally recognized research center and treatment hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Their mission is to “understand cancer from its beginnings, to use that knowledge in the creation and improvement of cancer treatments, to relieve the suffering of cancer patients, and to provide education about cancer risk, prevention, and care.”

We love how hard they work to make an impact. But if you’re still not sold, here are a few more reasons to enter your Huntsman era:

An amazing cause, a mission to help both current and future cancer patients, and fantastic credentials? Yeah, we’re kind of obsessed.

Last year, we were able to donate $10,000 to Huntsman while planting a tree for each bride, and we can’t wait to see the impact you can help us make this year!

Double Your Impact with One Tree Planted

Double your impact by raising funds for cancer research and planting a tree with the same dream dress purchase!

Year-round, In honor of every Maggie Sottero bride, we plant a tree with One Tree Planted to support biodiversity protection. Through this partnership, we are celebrating a more sustainable wedding space with LOVE and love for ALL – including Mother Earth.

If you buy your wedding dress during Cheer for Charity, you’ll be supporting both Huntsman Cancer Institute as well as One Tree Planted. (What can we say? We love a good two-for-one.)

Maggie brides are always stunning, but the glow you’ll have on your wedding day knowing you were a part of that? We can’t even imagine.

‘Tis the Season to Double Your Impact!

If you don’t mind us getting sentimental for just a second, we want to share a little bit about what the holidays are really about for us here at Maggie, and maybe it will resonate with you too!

Our hearts are the most full when we’re surrounded by our family and friends. Sharing that love with others is always the natural next step. We believe that there’s no better way to celebrate the true meaning of the season than by giving back to those less fortunate.

We want to make an impact for the people that we love, you love, and who just need love. But we can’t do it alone.

Double your impact this holiday season by scheduling a bridal appointment at your nearest Maggie Sottero Authorized Retailer and finally try on that gown you’ve been eyeing! Who knows? Maybe you’ll say yes to the dress, plant a tree, and give back to those battling cancer!

More Than a Dress

PC: Urban Set Bride

There are a hundred ways to make a statement on your special day. For some brides, that over-the-top dress is exactly the way to go.

Other brides have loved ones who aren’t able to attend their wedding because of cancer, or who have a loved one who is currently fighting cancer. Wearing a dress that gives a nod toward those important people is a quiet, but powerful statement.

Cheer for Charity is here for both. You deserve to feel beautiful on your wedding day in a gown that is perfectly “you.” And those utterly unforgotten loved ones can still be a part of your wedding celebration.

Double your impact by looking for a wedding gown that’s more than a dress. Participate in Cheer for Charity to plant a tree and stand in support of cancer victims and their families!

Maggie Retailers: How Do You Double Your Impact?

Of course, the Maggie Family would be nothing without our wonderful Authorized Retailers! They have implemented incredible charitable efforts of their own this giving season. Our retailers never fail to impress us with how much they give back to their community.

The Dress Bridal Boutique

The Dress Bridal Boutique in Medina, Ohio, recently hosted a charity bar crawl to benefit the Mary Grace Foundation. They also help support their community by purchasing pies for The Salvation Army’s Thanksgiving meal and adopting a few families for Christmas.

The Dress Bridal Boutique also supports the Medina Children’s Center, which provides guidance and counseling services and helps abused children. Concerning her passion behind their charity work, Sara, the owner of The Dress Bridal Boutique, said, “I’m a mom and I have the opportunity to give back, so I want to do as much as possible for other people.”

Simply Blush Bridal

Simply Blush Bridal in North Carolina is also always doing the most to spread holiday cheer! They are participating in Brides Across America as they have numerous staff members who have loved ones who have and are serving in the Military.

They also hold an annual “Blush-giving” every year. During this time, they ask brides to donate at least $25 to two organizations Simply Blush Bridal has chosen to partner with. At the end of the giving period, they match the donations for each organization.

This year, however, they’re shaking things up to help a (very tiny) cause dear to their hearts. “Blush-giving” proceeds are going to one of their stylists, Kenan Pope. Kenan and her husband’s baby whom they are in the process of adopting came very early, so Simply Blush is trying to raise $8,000 this year to help cover the cost of the adoption. Too cute!

Legacy Bridal Boutique and Ivory & Beau

Legacy Bridal Boutique in Gilbert, Arizona is participating in a Christmas Angel and is working on getting gifts to help a family in need! The single mom just moved to Arizona after getting out of a domestic violence situation and has 3 little girls. Owner Sydney Lanhart said that her hope is to give an amazing Christmas to this wonderful family in need.

Ivory & Beau in Savannah, Georgia, is another fabulous retailer that is trying to make an impact!  Owner of Ivory & Beau, Nicole, has been raising awareness about Alzheimer’s since her father’s diagnosis in 2018. Nicole and her team donate graciously to the Alzheimer’s Association.

In 2019, Nicole participated in the Dancing Stars of Coastal Georgia fundraiser to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association, and they still donate flowers and help promote the event annually. Ivory & Beau has raised thousands of dollars for this cause and honored Nicole’s father’s memory.

Avenir Bridal Boutique and Tiffany’s Bridal Boutique

Avenir Bridal Boutique in Chesapeake, Virginia is offering $100.00 off any special order dress if brides bring in a non-perishable food item to be donated to the food bank of Hampton Roads this November!

In the past, to celebrate the shop’s anniversary, Tiffany’s Bridal Boutique has made donations to local nonprofits such as Flights of Gratitude, The Humane League, and has given about 100 frozen meals to the Transitional Living Center, where they help provide housing for the homeless and veterans.

This coming year they are looking into donating to the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue, which helps rescue puppies from puppy mills, and Hannah’s Hope Ministries which aids in housing for women with children.

Martellen’s Bridal hosted a GOWNS FOR GOOD event in October that benefitted the fight against breast cancer. A percent of all bridal gowns sold for that month were donated to Susan G. Komem.

Elegant Brides

This October, Elegant Brides in Edwardsville, IL donated a portion of all wedding dress sales to Gateway to Hope. Gateway to Hope is a local non-profit that assists those with breast cancer to strive and survive. Elegant Brides believes that where you live, the color of your skin, and your income should not predict your breast cancer outcome. Gateway to Hope is committed to helping make that a reality.
