Chic Princess Wedding Dress in Elegant Australia Wedding
Color, venue, and texture are the keys to pulling off an elegant wedding that still has plenty of personality. Case in point? Midgley bride Merle’s sunny Australian nuptials, featuring a unique outdoor venue with plenty of architectural fab; statement florals in delectable palettes; and a vintage-inspired ballgown with golden embellishments. We love how everything comes together in a chic statement without looking overly staged (boring) or impersonal (not very conducive to your love story). Keep scrolling for more!

Which Maggie Sottero gown did you wear?
Amélie in Champagne, purchased from Raffaele Ciuca Bridal.
How did you know when you found “the dress”?
I felt like the dress suited my personality; this sounds a little strange but I didn’t feel like “me” in some of the other gowns I tried on. No other dress compared after Amélie.
What was your favorite part of the dress?
The fun and extravagance of the hundreds of layers that still felt so comfortable.
How did you and your partner meet?
We were high school sweethearts!
How did he propose?
An unforgettable degustation at Vue Due Monde… there was champagne and an engagement ring beautifully displayed among edible flowers and endless liquid nitrogen <3
Where did you get married?
Emily Moon River Lodge Plettenberg Bay South Africa. Such a fantastic venue!
Did your wedding have a theme?
I would describe it as an elegant rustic theme!
How did you decide what you wanted your wedding to look like?
One decision at a time, we chose what we both loved and what was available to us without worrying too much about all of the rules. I think it is sometimes better to not have a fixed picture in your mind.
What was your favorite wedding day moment?
Walking down the aisle. There was so much love and raw emotion in the room.
Describe your wedding in one word.
Magical.
What advice do you have for future brides?
Have fun, and remember it is about the marriage, not the wedding, and it is most important to keep yourself and your fiancé happy every step of the way.
