Q: What are the essential items a bride should bring when trying on wedding dresses?

A:  “Being family owned and operated for over three decades, Bridal and Formal understands the importance of family. We suggest a bride bring one to two people with her for support. It’s  important she bring people who will respect her individual style and opinion. It’s very tempting to bring everyone you love with you to pick your gown, but having so many opinions tends to make it harder for the bride to decide what gown is perfect for her.”

Q: What tips do you have for brides who aren’t sure how to pick a dress?

A: “Have an open mind. Most of the time, what you think you want and what you walk out loving are completely opposite. Come with ideas, but try on things you don’t think you will like. Your sales consultant is trained to look at your body type and will be able to pull gowns that may be something you hadn’t yet considered. There are so many beautiful looks, you’ll probably find a few that you love! That’s completely normal, especially when you have thousands of gorgeous gowns to choose from.”

Q: What trends are you seeing in your region?

A: “Straps are making a comeback with a V-neckline and gorgeous, low back being requested. Lace is always classic. Fit and flare seems to be the most popular shape right now.”

Q: What is your favorite part about working with brides?

A: “Every bride is different, and it’s a fresh new story every time. We get to play dress up and make dreams come true… What’s not to love?”

Q: Which Maggie Sottero/Sottero and Midgley gown would you choose to wear for your own wedding?

A: “It’s so hard to pick just one! My favorite dress from the Sottero and Midgley collection is Vivien. The fabric is so luxurious and the simple lines of the gown are so sophisticated. I think that gown is simply stunning.”

Q: What is your favorite bridal trend?

A: “My favorite trend right now is having options for necklines and straps. Strapless is beautiful and comfortable, but sometimes, a bride just wants a strap!”

Q: If you could tell brides one thing, what would it be?

A: “Have an open mind, have a budget, and most of all, have fun!”
