Bejeweled ballgown and glamorous Florida Estate Wedding - Midgley Bride Ashley is wearing Angelette by Sottero and Midgley

Midgley Bride Ashley dazzled in Angelette, a strapless bejeweled ballgown featuring a ultra-glam bodice with an illusion center-cut neckline. In keeping with her occasion’s white-and-neutral aesthetic, Ashley wore minimal jewelry and a sleek updo, looking perfectly polished next to her groom’s ivory suit and flower girls’ lacey frocks. Following the ceremony, guests sat down to an elegant outdoor reception in time for a gorgeous sunset. Ashley’s rhinestone sandals were perfect for dancing the night away in a chandelier-lit courtyard! Congratulations, Ashley and Mike! Which Maggie Sottero gown did you wear? I wore the Angelette and 1 year later, everyone still says it is the most beautiful wedding dress they have ever seen!

How did you know when you found “the dress”? It had everything I was looking for and I wasn’t going to have to “settle” on a different dress. The color was perfect, it was flowy which was important because it was going to be an outside wedding, it had just the right amount of beading at the top, I felt like a princess in it, and I could wear my sandals and nobody would ever know! My favorite part of the dress was the top of the dress.

What was your favorite wedding day moment? My favorite wedding day moment was walking down the staircase to see my hubby for the first time!

What advice do you have for future brides? My advice for future brides is to just relax. Everything works out in the end so just enjoy every moment of the process!

How did you and your now husband meet? My husband and I met through my brother. Although my brother didn’t like the idea of me dating one of his friends (nor did he think we would ever do anything more than go on a date) my brother doesn’t regret his decision at all. He set it up for Mike (my husband) and I to meet up with a group of people and of course he had to be there. Mike and I hit it off great… and we lived happily ever after!

How did he propose? We have a fairy tale proposal story! His friend has a plane and came to town for a few days. I had never been in a small plane and when I found out his friend had one I told him I wanted to go. His friend took us up and we decided to fly over our house to see what it looked like from above. Everything was gorgeous from above so I was just taking it all in. Our friend flew above our house in circles a few times when my husband said “Is there something on our roof?” That’s when I started shaking and grinning from ear to ear! He and his son earlier in the day wrote on the roof “Will you marry me?” I just kept saying “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh.” Mike was sitting behind me and asked “So what’s the answer?!?” When I turned around, he had the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. That’s when I finally said “YES!” The funny thing was that our friend, who was flying, was getting asked questions from air traffic control because he was staying in the same area for a little too long and going in circles but he couldn’t tell them why. Once I said yes, he told them what just happened and they said “There’s about 80 of us here that just heard what happened and we all want to say congrats”! I may be biased but I think he wins for the best wedding proposal!

Describe your wedding in one word. The best word to describe our wedding is Timeless. (Or memorable, perfect, amazing!!!)

How did you decide what you wanted your wedding to look like? We were going with an elegant/rustic theme. My husband and I are both simple people who love living in the country and listening to country music. I wanted to stick with who we are but we also didn’t want the typical country wedding either. After doing research (on Pinterest of course), we decided to go with burlap, lace, and baby’s breath. Since we are simple, we didn’t want too much color so we just stuck with neutral colors and it was absolutely perfect!
